THE SCHOOL

Welcome Message

Antonio VivaWelcome to Walnut Hill School for the Arts. As the new Head of School, I am pleased to see so many opportunities before us—opportunities to inspire and support students as they move forward academically and artistically, opportunities to forge relationships with the local and global community, and opportunities to further our role as a leader in arts education.

For centuries, the arts have served as a vehicle to express imagination, as a means to critically examine aspects of society, and to entertain, inspire and communicate in a universal language that transcends cultural, political and geographic boundaries. As a school for arts education, we meet these challenges in a personal way—student-by-student—to ensure that every student at Walnut Hill leaves here with the tools and temperament for success.

As I immerse myself in the humbling and inspiring place that is Walnut Hill, I am impressed daily by the potential and passion of this extraordinary school. It is a place that embraces creative potential, dedication of purpose, and commitment of community. Our students are the heart of this educational organization and our talented and dedicated faculty and staff are at the center of their experience. In a world that is increasingly global and more diverse, these young artists serve to lift our spirits, push our thinking, raise our collective understanding and appreciation of one another, and thread the universal tapestry that is the human experience.

For those of you who are already a part of our community I look forward, greatly, to working with you now and for years to come. For families and young artists exploring the possibility of joining our school, welcome!

Thank you.

Antonio Viva
