Ben Gregg Head of Humanities Department B.A., Brown University Ed.M., Harvard Graduate School of Education bgregg@walnuthillarts.org Ben Gregg came to Walnut Hill as the head of the History Department in 1999, and in 2003 became the head of a new Humanities Department, bringing together the English and history faculties. In 2006 he and his department began a process of defining and developing a common skills curriculum for their courses, a project that became the Humanities Department's Core Skills Initiative and has changed the way reading and writing are taught at Walnut Hill. Mr. Gregg has also taught at Falmouth Academy, Beaver Country Day School, and Hope High School in Providence, Rhode Island. He holds a B.A. in history from Brown University and an Ed.M from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. A cellist and inventor, he lives in Needham with his wife and two children. Ben was awarded the E.E. Ford Prize for Exceptional Merit by his peers at Walnut Hill in 2000 and 2007. |
