About the Faculty
Kirsten McKinney, Instructor
Kirsten is currently a member of the Theater Faculty of the Walnut Hill School for the Arts, and Boston College. Kirsten has had vast experience with various educational institutions in and around the New England area as a teacher and/or guest lecturer. Some of these institutions include: Harvard University, The Boston Conservatory, Emerson College, Brandeis University, Middlesex Community College, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Newton North High School, Newton South High School, Canton High School, and Brookline High School. Kirsten is also an award-winning choreographer whose works have been seen at Lincoln Center, NY; SpeakEasy Stage, Sugan Theater, The Publick Theater, The Boston Conservatory, Boston College, Emerson College, and Brandeis University. In Kirsten’s spare time she is a principal dancer for Sokolow Now!, a modern dance company devoted to the education and preservation of Anna Sokolow’ s choreography. Kirsten has a BFA from Boston Conservatory.
Gina Fiore, Musical Instructor
Ms. Fiore earned her B.M. in Piano Performance from New England Conservatory and an M.M. in Conducting from Ithaca College. At Ithaca, Ms. Fiore was the assistant conductor/vocal coach/accompanist for the choral, opera and musical theater division and was recognized by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for her musical direction and a cappella arrangements of Stephen Vincent Benet’s adaptation of John Brown’s Body. She is a former faculty lecturer at Ithaca College Theater. Ms. Fiore has extensive experience as a musical director/vocal coach/accompanist. Her affiliations include Gateway/Candlewood Playhouse, North Shore Musical Theater, The New Opera and Music Theater Initiative (NOMTI), Virginia Stage Company, Virginia Opera and the Hangar Theater. In her professional repertoire are performances at Lincoln Center and the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland where she conducted productions of A Chorus Line and Chicago. Ms. Fiore is also a vocal/coach accompanist for Opera Lirica in Orvieto, Italy. She is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda. Ms. Fiore is in her 16th year of teaching at Walnut Hill School for the Arts.
